Founder/Lead Educator
Hi, I’m Kayla!
I’m a nature-loving educator who believes childhood should be muddy, magical, and full of tiny discoveries. You’ll usually find me at the Beacon Food Forest with dirt under my nails, spotting mushrooms the size of buttons, or following a group of kids who just found “the coolest stick ever.” Overcast skies and wind in my hair? That’s my element. I’m also a proud thrift-store treasure hunter, always collecting little gems for both my own adventures and our preschool days.
I’m constantly inspired by the way children notice what adults miss like the veins of a leaf, the rhythm of raindrops, the way light shifts through branches. Their curiosity fuels everything I do. I try to protect it and make space for it through play, movement, messy projects, and time outside.
I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education to continue deepening my practice with young learners. After years in different preschool settings, I finally built the kind of program I always wished existed, a small, outdoor space where kids can get dirty, try hard things, solve problems together, and feel like they truly belong.
